Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Vital app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Vital is operated by Elconex Private Limited (“Vital”, “we”, “us”).

Last updated: July 26, 2026

1. Overview

Vital helps you remember the moments that matter — birthdays, anniversaries, staying in touch with people, health routines, and everyday tasks — by sending you notifications and, when you choose, actual phone-call reminders. To do this, we store the reminders you create and a small amount of account and device information described below.

We only collect what we need to run these features, and we do not sell your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

  • Your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Your password, which is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form — we never store it in plain text.
  • If you sign in with Google, your Google account identifier, name, email, and profile photo, as provided by Google Sign-In.
  • An optional profile photo (avatar).

Reminders and event content you create

  • Birthdays: names, dates of birth, gender, relationship, and any photo you add.
  • Anniversaries: names, dates, and relationships.
  • Keep-in-touch contacts: the name and phone number of people you choose to stay in touch with, and how often you want to be reminded.
  • Health routines and tasks: titles, descriptions, schedules, and reminder times.

Contacts

If you grant contacts permission, Vital reads your device contacts so you can import birthdays and select people for call and keep-in-touch reminders. Only the contacts and phone numbers you choose to add are saved to your account. You can use the app without granting this permission.

Voice recordings

When you use voice input to create a reminder, the audio you record is sent to our servers and to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text to convert it into text. The resulting reminder is saved to your account.

Device and technical information

  • A push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver reminders to your device.
  • Your time zone, so reminders and calls arrive at the correct local time.
  • Your in-app settings and preferences (for example, notification and theme settings).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create, store, and deliver your reminders as notifications or phone calls.
  • To schedule reminders at the correct time in your local time zone.
  • To transcribe voice recordings into reminders.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To sync your data across your devices.
  • To respond to your support requests and to operate, maintain, and improve the app.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate Vital, and only as needed to provide the app:

  • Google — for Google Sign-In (authentication) and Google Cloud Speech-to-Text (voice transcription).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — to deliver push notifications.
  • Our cloud hosting and database provider — to securely store your account and reminder data.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.

5. App Permissions

On Android, Vital may request the following permissions. You are always in control and can manage them in your device settings:

  • Microphone — to record voice reminders (only while recording).
  • Contacts — to import birthdays and select people for reminders.
  • Phone / manage calls — to place the reminder phone calls you set up.
  • Notifications, display over other apps, and full-screen intent — to show reminders and the incoming-call reminder screen.
  • Run at startup — to reschedule your reminders after your device restarts.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can delete individual reminders at any time in the app.

You can delete your entire account and its associated data at any time. For full instructions and a web-based request option, see our Account & Data Deletion page. When you delete your account, we remove your account and reminder data from our systems and ask our service providers to do the same. We may retain a limited amount of information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit access to it.

8. Children’s Privacy

Vital is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights in the app or by contacting us using the details below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
